Good morning Contact Team! I hope this week has been good for everyone...hopefully, you've had a little time to enjoy the sunshine.
I just wanted to send out a quick note to give everyone an update on things happening at The Chapel Store. I've been busy doing lots of inventory and research about the costs of everything and the possibility of adding new t-shirt designs and other fun things. We have a unique opportunity with this ministry of the church...we have the chance to advertise and help get the word out about the place that we love and possibly do it (with the budget we've been given) by breaking even or even making a little...I believe that we all want to be good stewards of the money that has been put aside for ALL of our Contact ministries. In order to continue to give items away to people that need it or as prizes or gifts we need to raise some prices to cover the costs. The Relevant shirts cost us about $8 each---we sell them for $5. A great deal but not so great for the bottom line. I've gotta go with my business sense on this one...This Sunday (the 31st) and next Sunday (the 7th) will be the last days of the $5 t-shirt. We'll give people this time to stock up if they want and hopefully clear some out and then the prices will go up to (the still VERY reasonable price) $8. I would appreciate it very much if you could help me get the word out! I am making signs to put around the store.
On another t-shirt note, we are almost sold out of Chapel Chick shirts again! I am planning a meeting for Feb. (I'll let you know so you can mark your calendars) and we'll decide about some new designs and vote on some other fun things...good? This is longer than I intended...hope it didn't take up too much of your time. Thanks for all you do! See you Sunday.

Get In The Game!

*Just in case you didn't hear, Whitney had sweet baby Emily Eloise! They are both doing well...6 lbs. 9oz and 19" long.

OK Team! Its time to "get in the game"! I know, most of y'all are very much already in the game. And for this, I am thankful! This will be the theme for our Small Group Kick-Off to be held on Sunday February 14th. Mark your calendars!

I need a few favors from y'all...we are going to ask all the small group leaders to bring a snack to share and we are going to provide the drinks of tea/lemonade. I need someone to be in charge of getting all that together---coolers, ice, cups, etc. Denise has a list of people who are willing to offer coolers and such---I just need a leader.

Does anyone have a connection anywhere to get loud, pumping music?

I would like to meet before the event to get all our ducks in a row. Would love to know what works well for you. Sunday's after church sometime? Weekday nights? Weekday mornings? Feel free to comment here or shoot me an email! meghanhdavis@hotmail.com

Small Group Kick-Off is Coming!

Hello fellow Contact Team! Just wanted to keep you informed...

We had a GREAT Coaches Meeting last night to kick off the new year. Drew is running full force with the small group kick-off that he is planning for Sunday Feb. 14th. As you probably know, The Contact Team is involved with presenting the theme to the congregation along with putting together the booklet for everyone. We threw around some ideas last night and I think we are planning on going in the direction (along with Jay's series in Jan.) of the whole "Game Plan", "Getting in the Game", "Joining the Team"....type of idea. Maybe using all the sports--basketball, baseball, football, Nascar, etc. to illustrate this theme.

Everyone seemed to get excited about the idea of a Tail-gate Party to kick off the whole thing...and I know y'all like to PARTY!! :) Please comment or email me with any ideas that jump into your head concerning this small group launch. meghanhdavis@hotmail.com

Also, I am heading to the Facilities Meeting tomorrow (Wed 1/13/10) night. That team has broken down the on-going list into the top ten. They will present it at the meeting and let teams sign up to take over whatever project. Please feel free to attend...Brooks to gonna have yummy food!! Its at 6:00 and I would love some opinions...

Get your thinking caps on! I would love to have an Easter shirt design for this year. The Christmas ones were popular so I think we can do it again. I would like to use the words "rise up" but need some ideas for a design, colors, style, etc.

Thanks so much for all of your help! I couldn't do this without you...stay warm! :)

Have you seen the store?

Sunday was my day to work the store (and boy was it cold!) but I kept that door open and my coat on and lots of people came in and bought stuff! :)
Have you seen the changes to the store?

Everything has been moved around and displayed differently...

...all the items are also clearly priced...

There is a "request form" on the black table for people to fill out with their wishes, too. Stop by the store next time you are at church---I hope you are happy. It seems to be a hit! A great way to start off the new year!
See you soon...
(Thanks to my Reilly-Kate who was my model
and wanted to be in every picture.)
